James Herndon graduated from West Virginia University with a BSCE in 1970. He is a registered PE in West Virginia.
He began his career with the Ohio Department of Highways and was employed in the Bridge Group of Mosser Construction. He was employed with Centex Construction Group in Dallas, TX as an Office Engineer advancing to Project Manager, Chief Estimator and executive Vice President. He joined Clark Construction Group as Senior Vice President in 1996.
During his career, James has been involved with the construction of 9 Veterans Administration Hospitals across the country, including Martinsburg, WV.
In 2008, he was selected as WVU Alumni of the year.
