Mr. Buchheit has over 30 years professional experience in the engineering consulting industry.  After graduating from West Virginia University in 1986, he joined Gannett Fleming, Inc. working as a Bridge Engineer in the firm’s Harrisburg, PA headquarters office. 

During his tenure with Gannett Fleming, Mr. Buchheit has held past positions as a Project Manager, Regional Manager and is currently a Senior Vice President reporting directly to the firm’s CEO serving as the Corporate Quality Officer and Corporate Risk Officer. 

His professional accomplishments include leading design and design-build projects involving major and complex bridge structures; establishment of Gannett Fleming’s formal risk management program; maintaining the firm’s ISO-certified quality management system; furnishing quantitative risk analysis for major transit infrastructure projects.

John is active in the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC), the Design Build Institute of America (DBIA), the American Road and Transportation Builders Association (ARTBA) and has authored papers on topics including bridge design, design-build, and risk management.
