Ms. Reese is an accomplished engineer and business owner with over 35 years of experience in both the design and construction aspects of the heavy civil and transportation industry. Her career has included employment in both the public and private sectors.
After graduating Summa Cum Laude with a BSCE from WVU in 1994, Karen began her career with Uni-Tec Consulting Engineers in State College, Pennsylvania. While there, she performed as lead design engineer for superstructure design of the Trough Creek State Park bridge: a 2-lane, 75’ long span, 3-pinned, glulam arch bridge designed for the Pennsylvania Department of Natural Resources. The bridge is featured in bridgehunter.com as a notable bridge of the United States.
After leaving Uni-Tec, Ms. Reese was employed with the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation, where she initially earned her NBIS bridge inspection certification and acted as a Liaison Engineer responsible for design oversight on over 40 bridge and roadway projects.
In 2009, Karen established Concrete Simplicity Consulting & Supply, LLC, offering construction material supply and engineering services to contractors throughout Pennsylvania. She also currently holds a part-time position with KCI Technologies, Inc., as a Senior Project Engineer in their Contractor Services Discipline. Ms. Reese is a licensed professional engineer in both Pennsylvania and Maryland.
