Lewis began his studies at West Virginia University in 1966. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from WVU in 1970, and subsequently received a Master of Science degree in Civil Engineering from WVU in 1973. Mr. Grimm’s professional career began in 1971 with the Delaware Department of Transportation. In 1975, Mr. Grimm accepted a position in the Washington, DC office of the consulting engineering and planning firm of Barton-Aschman Associates, Inc. He has been a resident of the Washington, DC metropolitan area since 1975 and was previously associated with several consulting firms including URS Corporation and Cambridge Systematics. Since 2010, Mr. Grimm has served as the Planning Team Leader with the Eastern Federal Lands Highway Division of the Federal Highway Administration, U.S. Department of Transportation in Sterling, Virginia.

Mr. Grimm is a registered professional engineer in Delaware and Virginia, and is a Life Member of both the American Society of Civil Engineers and the Institute of Transportation Engineers. His involvement with the Wadsworth Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering has continued for more than 30 years as a member of the Department’s Industrial Advisory Committee.
