Louis D. Rocchini specialized as Transportation Engineering during his career which spanned 45 years. He was awarded a BSCE in 1971 and an MSCE in 1973 from WVU.
He began his career as a civil engineer for the Ohio Department of Transportation and left to pursue his master’s degree at WVU specializing in traffic and transportation engineering.
Upon receiving his master’s degree, he served as a Senior Transportation Engineer with the Southwestern Pennsylvania Commission from 1973-1980. He then served as Manager of Transportation Planning for Allegheny County, Pennsylvania from 1980-1988.
From 1988 to his retirement in 2015, he was employed by Maguire Group, a national engineering consulting firm. He advanced through the company starting as a Project Manager and then as Vice President/Profit Center Manager for the PA region, and finally as Transportation Business Unit Director.
During his career, he was involved in the planning, design and construction of many Pittsburgh area major transportation projects.
Throughout his career, he was very active in professional organizations including: the Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE), the American Society of Highway Engineers (ASHE), and the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC) where he held numerous positions.
