Hailing from Charleston, WV, Nancy Richard received a BSCE from WVU in 1970 following in the footsteps of her older sister.
While attending WVU Nancy spent her summers working for the WVDOH and continued to do so after graduation.
In 1973, she began working for Equitable Gas. In 1983, Nancy moved to Houston, TX and did consulting work and in 1987 began working for Fluor Daniel. During her time there, she had the opportunity to work and live overseas. She worked in Russia, Manila and Calgary. In Manila, she set up the Pipeline Department and training personnel. This enabled Fluor’s Manila office to be a full-service Engineering Company.
Her area of expertise is related to major foreign and domestic pipeline projects, some of which were cutting edge across multiple disciplines.
Her working career began at the leading edge of female engineering design and leadership, including work both domestically and internationally. Projects were wide in scope and included teamwork on all levels to accomplish.
