Robert O. (Bob) Orders, Jr. graduated from West Virginia University with a BS in Civil Engineering in 1972. After graduation, he returned home to his family's construction business, Orders Construction Company, headquartered in St. Albans, WV. Over the past 40 years, Orders Construction Company has grown to become a large highway, heavy, utility, and industrial contractor working in West Virginia and Virginia. Bob has founded heavy excavation, commercial building and electrical construction businesses.

Mr. Orders is a registered Professional Engineer and registered Professional Surveyor. In 2000, he established the Robert O. Orders Civil Engineering Scholarship at WVU in honor of his father. He has served as president of the Contractors Association of WV, a member of the WV Contractors Licensing Board, and as a Trustee for the Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary. He currently serves as a member of the Board of Directors of the Associated Contractors of America, a Trustee for The Nature Conservancy of West Virginia, on the Advisory Board of BB&T, and as a member if the Board of Directors for the WVU Foundation.
