Steven Trail

Steven Edward Trail received his BS in 1981 and his MS in 1984 in civil engineering from West Virginia University.  After receiving his degrees, he gained substantial experience in various structural engineering capacities while working with consulting firms throughout the United States as a project engineer, a project manager, a department director, and as a principal engineer.  Mr. Trail is currently a registered engineer in Arizona, California, and Maryland, but has previously held registrations in over twenty states.

For the past twenty-one years, he has concentrated his practice on the forensic aspects of structural engineering, and, in continuance of that pursuit, in 2005 he founded Trail Consulting Group.  As a part of his forensic work, he has provided forensic engineering services and litigation support to a variety of clients including developers, contractors, owners, insurance carriers, and municipalities.  He has served as an expert witness in over 500 litigated matters.

He is currently concentrating on developing a structural engineering software solution intended to both streamline the structural design process and increase the quality and usefulness of the printed output.

Steve currently resides in Scottsdale, Arizona with his wife Susan Sober Trail.
