A native of Fairmont, WV, Wayne graduated from WVU in 1977 with a BSCE and from the University of Charleston in 2010 with an Executive MBA.
He began his career in Chattanooga, TN in 1977 and returned to WV the first of four times to join BCM Engineers and later Dunn Engineers. In 1986 he joined WV American Water Company (WVAWC) until 1988 when he moved to Chantilly, VA managing the environmental section of BCM’s Washington, DC Office.
He returned to WVAWC in 1991 and moved to Cherry Hill, NJ in 1994 with the American Water System (AWS). He returned as President of WVAWC in 2007 and retired from the AWS in 2012.
He then joined The Thrasher Group and works with several clients in VA and WV overseeing civil engineering projects.
Wayne Morgan graduated from West Virginia University in 1977 with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering and in 2010 from the University of Charleston with a Masters of Business Administration. He retired from the American Water System with 25 years of service (14 years in New Jersey), and has 15 years of service in consulting engineering in Virginia and West Virginia, prior to becoming the Executive Director of the WVIJDC.
Wayne is a professional engineer and has a West Virginia certified drinking water operator’s license. He received the George Warren Fuller Award from his peers for West Virginia from the American Water Works Association (AWWA) in 2015 for distinguished service to the water supply field, and served as the West Virginia Section Chair of AWWA in 2012. He serves on the board and executive committees of the University of Charleston and the West Virginia Academy of Civil Engineers. He serves as the Secretary/Treasurer of Advantage Valley and is a member of AWWA.
